Kurukshetra is a district in Haryana state of India.It is also known as The Holy City. It was after the name of King Kuru, the ancestor of Kauravas and Pandavas this place was called Kurukshetra.It is supposed to be the site of the Kurukshetra war, described in the Mahabharata. Kurukshetra is of great importance in Hinduism as this is where the Bhagavad Gita was taught to Arjuna.
